Texas A&M agrees to extension with WR Mario Craver for 2026 season

We truly are in a new day and age of college football, where athletes are announcing extensions being signed with current schools, much like we’ve seen at the NFL level over the years. Regardless of what you think about it, the Texas A&M Aggies made a big splash on Thursday afternoon, signing star wide receiver Mario Cravers to an extension, reportedly making him among the highest-paid pass-catchers in college football history.
Of course, these deals are not, and have not been, subject to public record in the past, so it’s a bit tongue-in-cheek to say that he is the highest-paid in the history of the sport, but regardless, the Aggies offered him a large chunk of change to keep the sophomore wide receiver around.
Cravers had a breakout season for the Aggies in 2025, hauling in 52 passes for 825 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games. He now has a total of 1,193 yards and seven touchdowns in his 20 games in College Station, and he was a major contributor in Texas A&M’s run to the College Football Playoff this year.
Now, he will be coming back for one more season with the Aggies, expecting to play alongside QB Marcel Reed as Texas A&M looks to once again make a run to the CFP in the future.
