Flair Enhances Service Offerings, Eyes GDS Listing by 2026

Flair Airlines has unveiled a series of enhancements to its Flair With Distinction (FWD) initiative and confirmed it is still exploring a potential Global Distribution System (GDS) listing, which would allow advisors to access its products.
The airline says the upgrades won’t affect its low fares and promise improvements across the entire travel experience—from booking to baggage claim.
Changes Ahead
Starting 03DEC, 2025, Flair Express will let customers with a carry-on bag board first via a dedicated line, whether the bag is purchased as part of Lite/MAX bundles or separately. Flair acknowledged the hassle of bag sizers, noting that customers will only need to use one if they “bring the kitchen sink.”
The carrier is also introducing four new bundles—Basic, Lite, Plus and MAX—in response to customer feedback for more flexible options.
Flair will become North America’s first airline to offer ticket resale through Fairlyne, potentially buying back a seat so customers can purchase it later at a lower fare. The resale option launches in December 2025.
Another addition is Flair Vacations, enabling customers to combine Flair flights with hotels for better value. The launch follows the airline’s expansion into the Caribbean and Latin America, with Montego Bay starting 14DEC, 2025, and Mexico City scheduled for October 2027. Flair has partnered with B2B global travel marketplace HBX on this vacation product, which also rolls out in December.
Flair CEO Maciej Wilk said the upgrades reflect the airline “listening to our customers.”
“The work is not over with today’s announcement. If anything, the work is just beginning,” he added.
GDS Listing Still Under Review
When will Flair appear on a GDS, if at all? As OpenJaw reported, the carrier has not yet taken that path. However, Flair told us it is “currently exploring the option of listing on the GDS network and expects to have something in place by the end of the year,” while noting that costs to do so remain significant.
Launched six months ago by Flair, FWD aims to “make air travel simpler, smarter and more affordable for Canadians.” Key improvements already implemented include:
- A new website
- Digital boarding passes for all (excluding pets)
- A dedicated team keeping customers up to date with delays
- On-time guarantee, giving customers on all flights with a delay of 60 minutes or more a $60 e-voucher for next time
- The first airline in Canada to allow automated bag tracking through Apple AirTag Technology
Flair says there is a “deeper transformation” underway at the moment. We’ll have to wait and see if that transformation includes a GDS listing.
