Norrie is aiming to be efficient on return and will need to be proactive in order to limit Rublev’s opportunities on both forehand and backhand.
Playing styles and prediction
It’s been a resurgent second half of the season for Rublev who has produced some excellent performances on the big occasions. However, Rublev is now on a four match losing streak and will hope need to break that and have a good tournament if he wants to continue his rise up the rankings ahead of next season.
Norrie will look to dictate play from inside the baseline as the Brit aims to hit the backhand as early as possible. Meanwhile, Rublev will aim to be consistent on serve in order to prevent Rublev from dictating play on the return. This should be an entertaining contest with Norrie prevailing in a tight three set contest.
Prediction: Norrie in three sets.
