Disgraced rugby star Stuart Hogg slashes £30k off price of lavish home after abuse scandal
The former Scotland captain, 33, and his ex-wife Gillian put the five-bedroom property on the market in April.

Disgraced rugby star Stuart Hogg has slashed a further £30,000 off the asking price for his home after struggling to find a wealthy buyer.
The former Scotland captain, 33, and his ex-wife Gillian put the five-bedroom property on the market in April. They had snapped it up for nearly £700,000 three years ago but advertised it for offers in the region of £850,000.
In August they reduced the figure to offers in the region of £825,000 in a bid to offload the house in Hawick, Roxburghshire. But the pair have now decided to knock another £30,000 to try and get a sale over the line.
The property is now at an asking price of £795,000 after being reduced last week. It was the location where he had subjected his ex to domestic abuse.
Hogg admitted a five-year course of domestic abuse against his wife at Selkirk Sheriff Court in November last year. He admitted shouting and swearing and acting in an abusive manner towards her.

Hogg also admitted repeatedly tracking her movements and sending messages of an alarming and distressing nature.
The court heard he had once sent her more than 200 messages in just a couple of hours.
Sheriff Peter Paterson ordered Hogg to complete a community payback order with one year of supervision as an alternative to jail when he sentenced him in January.
A review hearing in June at Jedburgh Sheriff Court said there was no need for a further review of the order.
Hogg sparked fury earlier this month after blaming alcohol and antidepressants for his domestic abuse and said he had made a mistake quitting the game to save his marriage.

A sales brochure for his rural property said it offers a ‘unique opportunity to equestrian and countryside enthusiasts’ or those ‘looking to take advantage of a more peaceful way of life’.
It added: “The property has been tastefully refurbished throughout and is offered for sale in turn key condition with many pleasing and stylish features internally.”
Former Glasgow Warriors fullback Hogg amassed a century of senior caps for his country and was involved in three British and Irish Lions tours.
He remains one of Scotland’s all-time leading try scorers and was awarded an MBE in the 2024 New Year honours list for services to rugby union but there have been calls to strip him of the title.
He came out of retirement last summer to sign a two-year contract with Montpellier.
