Ryan Mason gives squad update ahead of Watford trip

“Toby’s out after he had to come off in the Preston game,” said Ryan. “We’re assessing a few others, but hopefully everyone else will be OK.

“It’s just part of it, to be honest. You just need to try and understand all the information, how the players feel and the moment each individual is in, and the team are in.

“Sometimes we’re going to need to make changes, sometimes it’s better to roll out the same team, and I think that’s the decision that me and the coaches will come to together. That is the challenge.

“We had a good result the other day, so the feeling is good. We’ll train, travel down, and decide the team. Everyone’s got a really important part to play.

“Everyone needs to be ready to compete, one hundred per cent. If you’re not, then ultimately you don’t win games of football.

“Certainly, it’s a mentality thing. I think the more you go through it, the more you feel it, the better you understand it. At the top level, you have to play a game every three days, and at the biggest clubs, you have to win every three days as well. It’s such a challenge and that’s the environment we want to try and create here.”
