San Antonio Spurs rookie details preparation for first NBA season

The San Antonio Spurs have brought in an exciting rookie in Carter Bryant. Taken with the 14th overall selection of the 2025 NBA Draft, Bryant will now join the nucleus of young Spurs as they look to compete for a playoff spot.
Bryant played collegiately at Arizona last year. In 37 games as a freshman, he averaged 6.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. At 6’8, Bryant is a very versatile player on both ends of the floor, and should fit in nicely next to Stephon Castle and Victor Wembanyama.
Bryant was impressive throughout the preseason, averaging 8.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in five preseason appearances. Now ahead of the regular season, Bryant spoke with reporters about his preparation for his rookie year.
“I try not to put too much pressure on any individual thing, whether that is on the court or off the court,” Bryant said. “I think something that a lot of people fail to recognize is that the day is going to move no matter how you are feeling, no matter the circumstances, whether it is good or bad. Understanding that not to treat one thing more important than the other. That is just how I try to approach everything.”
Bryant and the Spurs will look to return to the postseason in 2025-26. The team has been on the cusp of turning things around for the last few seasons, and could be a candidate to have a breakout year this season.
