Country Music Hall of Fame honors legendary family, music producer and pirate king | Music City Minute

The Country Music Hall of Fame has officially welcomed its class of 2025. This year’s inductees included Kenny Chesney, June Carter Cash and music producer Tony Brown. Each new member was recognized during the medallion ceremony, where friends and family gathered to perform some of their biggest hits and shared stories from the often-bumpy road of their success. Kenny Chesney and Tony Brown were on hand to accept their medallions, while John Carter Cash and Carlene Carter stood in for their mother, Miss June, who passed away in 2003. One of the best trips down memory lane came from Peyton Manning, whose friendship with Kenny Chesney stretches back to the late 90s. At the time, Manning was the star quarterback at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and whenever a party at his apartment needed some live music, he would simply pick up the phone and call “bestie” Chesney. To be honest, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Peyton still reaches out to Kenny for a musical favor from time to time.

I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.
