Gardaí believe the violence in Citywest was “far more organised and planned” than the rioting in Dublin city centre two years ago.
Nearly 300 gardaí were deployed after a protest over the alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl in the grounds of the former hotel now accommodating asylum-seekers resulted in an outbreak of violence.
