‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Artist Behind ‘Golden’ Teases Clip of Her New Single

EJAE, the singer-songwriter who co-wrote the soundtrack of the Netflix smash hit film KPop Demon Hunters, teased a clip from her upcoming single on Instagram.

The video shared on EJAE’s Instagram account shows a hand writing the words: “I was thinking bout space, and not the one between us” onto a notepad, which match the lyrics to a song sung in the background. The same words are featured in the caption of the post. The clip ends with a view of a grand piano, with sheets of paper on the floor around it.

The singer-songwriter shared the reel in her Stories with a “presave link” to her upcoming single “In Another World,” which will be released on Friday.

The teaser comes as EJAE was announced on Wednesday to have signed with WME, the global talent agency representing some of the biggest stars of Hollywood.

EJAE announced her upcoming single in a previous Instagram post on October 5, the day after her appearance on Saturday Night Live. The post came just days before her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, during which she performed her hit track “Golden,” with the other two singing voices behind the film’s fictional K-pop girl band HUNTR/X.

Reflecting on her “crazy” rise to global fame as the singing voice of the Rumi character from KPop Demon Hunters, EJAE said in her October 5 post: “For years, writing has been my therapy, my way of coping, celebrating, making sense of the noise in my head. Along the way, I wrote some songs that never found the right home. I’ve decided I want my artist project to give life to those songs, so people can laugh, dance, or cry with me and the amazing collaborators who helped create them.”

She added: “There’s one song that feels like the perfect place to start. Writing this song helped me through a hard time, and I hope that sharing it can help others too. It’s called ‘In Another World’ and is releasing on 10/24/25.”

Co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, KPop Demon Hunters follows HUNTR/X, whose other mission in life, when not selling out arenas, is to chase away any demons who try to take human souls from the Earth. They later meet a rival group called the Saja Boys, demons disguised as a boy band looking to catch human souls.

In addition to “Golden,” EJAE also co-wrote other songs from the soundtrack, including  “How It’s Done,” “What It Sounds Like,” as well as The Saja Boys track “Your Idol,” according to her agency.

Beyond her work on KPop Demon Hunters, EJAE has also written, vocal-directed, and contributed background vocals for various major K-pop artists. Some of her K-pop credits include aespa’s “Drama” and “Armageddon,” Red Velvet’s “Psycho,” and songs with artists such as Le Sserafim, TWICE, Taeyeon, NMIXX, and Fifty Fifty.

With its catchy, anthemic tunes, the electrifying soundtrack for KPop Demon Hunters has become a phenomenon on its own.

“Golden” spent eight weeks at the top of the Billboard 100 chart. The tune also made history by becoming the first by an all-female group to top the Billboard Streaming Songs chart, according to Netflix. The song previously claimed the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts for the fourth non-consecutive week in the week of August 16.

Earlier this year in July, HUNTR/X beat real-life global K-pop stars Blackpink on the U.S. Spotify chart with “Golden,” becoming the highest charting female K-pop band. The Saja Boys usurped K-pop giant BTS as the highest charting male K-pop band on the U.S. Spotify ranking with their song “Your Idol.”

KPop Demon Hunters is available for streaming on Netflix.
