A new Nintendo Direct showcase is coming this Thursday, Nintendo has confirmed, and as promised, it will offer another extended look at Nintendo Switch 2 game Kirby Air Riders. Game director and Super Smash Bros. series creator Masahiro Sakurai will once again host the Kirby Air Riders Direct, promising 60 minutes of news and gameplay details on the upcoming game.
Sakurai’s Kirby Air Riders Nintendo Direct No. 2 will stream on Oct. 23, starting at 6 a.m. PDT/9 a.m. EDT, via Nintendo’s YouTube and Twitch channels. It will also be available to watch through the company’s Nintendo Today app.
Nintendo previously dedicated a full 45 minutes to Kirby Air Riders in August. Sakurai revealed new details about the game at the time, including the implementation of a second button, the game’s playable cast, the return of City Trial, and a November release date. What Sakurai still has left to say about Kirby Air Riders beyond all that is a compelling mystery, but there’s a non-zero chance that he’ll talk about the game for five minutes and spend the bulk of the hour just racing around as Kirby. Who knows?! That’s the magic of Sakurai.
While you wait for Sakurai’s latest trademark deep dive, read Polygon’s hands-on impressions of Kirby Air Riders, which arrives on Switch 2 on Nov. 20.
