Report: Ravens sign a veteran pass rusher following Thursday workout

Jordan Schultz reports that the Baltimore Ravens are signing DE Carl Lawson after having him in for a recent workout.
The Baltimore Ravens are adding a pass rusher to the roster, signing Carl Lawson following a recent workout. The 30-year-old is a seven-year NFL veteran who spent the 2024 season with the Dallas Cowboys but had yet to receive an opportunity in 2025.
The move comes after the Ravens hosted Lawson and Jesse Luketa for Monday visits.
Baltimore was relying on Kyle Van Noy, rookie Mike Green, and David Ojabo at outside linebacker following the bye week after trading Odafe Oweh and losing Tavius Robinson to a foot injury.
Lawson previously signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the Jets ahead of the 2021 season, but missed the regular season after rupturing his Achilles. Lawson rehabbed and had seven sacks for the Jets in 2022, his second-highest total to that point. The injury bug popped up again as Lawson played six games for the Jets in 2023 in his final season with the team. Overall, Lawson played 23 total games with New York after signing his three-year deal.
Lawson signed with Dallas in 2024, logging five sacks on the season.
