Sean Bean’s “engrossing” psychological thriller has just landed on Netflix

Sean Bean’s “engrossing” psychological thriller Don’t Say a Word has landed a new streaming home in the UK and Ireland after being added to Netflix over the weekend.

Based on the novel of the same name by Andrew Klavan, the film stars Michael Douglas as a New York psychologist who is forced to treat a mentally unstable patient with a violent past, played by Brittany Murphy.

In order to secure the freedom of his kidnapped daughter (Skye McCole Bartusiak) from a gang of jewel thieves headed up by Bean’s Patrick Koster, the psychiatrist must coax a code from Murphy’s character Elisabeth, who hasn’t spoken in ten years.

User reviews on IMDb were more favourable, with one viewer writing: “Overall, I really liked this movie, which surprised me a little bit. The trailers I had seen for it had me thinking it was going to be kind of ‘cheesy’ for lack of a better word, but this was actually very engrossing.”

“I hadn’t seen this and at a loss of what to stream one evening I put it on. It’s a really good little thriller with a great star turn from Michael Douglas and a very on form, and top villain, Sean Bean,” penned another.

Another wrote: “I really don’t understand the bad reviews and low rating! This movie is totally underrated! It’s a really good thriller with interesting psychological aspect to it. Michael Douglas, Sean Bean and Brittany Murphy are all Excellent!”
