Bubble tea brand to close final Vancouver location, signifying departure from B.C. market

The Vancouver restaurant industry can be fickle, and unfortunately, a major Taiwanese bubble tea brand will officially be leaving B.C. after it closes its final location in Vancouver.

Baroness Bubble Tea shared the news on Instagram that it would be closing its Broadway location.

“After 6 wonderful years, our journey at Baroness 小黑糖 – Broadway location is coming to an end,” wrote the bubble tea shop. “As we count down the days, we’d love to serve you your favorite bubble tea one last time (or maybe a few more 😉).”

This was the first Vancouver location for the Taiwan-founded bubble tea brand Baroness, which opened back in 2019. The shop also briefly operated a location at 780 Denman St., which has since closed.

It’s best known for its over 30 different ways to enjoy tea, including options from its brown sugar series, winter melon series, signature series, and more.

Baroness’ final day at its Broadway outpost will be Oct. 31. After it closes, it will be left with two Canadian outposts — both of which are in Toronto.

Address: 2790 W. Broadway, Vancouver
