Damilola “Dapper” Akinwunmi, Founder and CEO of Dapper Music and Entertainment, has officially introduced Giddy Girls — an all-female vocal collective made up of students from Chalcedony School, Lekki, Lagos.

Giddy Girls

Giddy Girls, a group of young, gifted voices behind some of Afrobeats’ most-streamed songs of the past two years, is now ready to step into the spotlight.

The group — Ifeoluwa Ayoola, Irene Aziba, Michelle Imafidon, Isabella Osayi, and Deborah Aleshinloye — have quietly contributed to some of the genre’s biggest records.

Their voices feature prominently on Burna Boy’s “Higher” and “Love,” providing the ethereal undertones that anchor both tracks. They also lent their voices to TML Vibez’s “Amiri,” a chart-topping anthem that has dominated playlists across Nigeria and beyond.

Under the guidance of Omoba Godwin Eshiomomoh, Music Director and Vocal Handler, and producer Chisom “Jaysythns” Onyeke, the Giddy Girls are honing a sound that fuses gospel-inspired warmth with Afropop’s rhythmic pulse. Despite their youth, the group’s precision, emotion, and vocal chemistry have drawn comparisons to seasoned professionals.

“These girls are a revelation,” said Damilola Akinwunmi. “They’ve brought magic to every record they’ve touched, from Burna’s ‘Higher’ and ‘Love’ to TML Vibez’s ‘Amiri.’ It’s rare to see this level of harmony, discipline, and passion from such young voices. At Dapper, our goal is to give them the platform they deserve because they represent the future of African music.”

Giddy Girls

Though Giddy Girls have yet to release their own single, Dapper Music has teased several collaborative projects and live showcases featuring the group alongside major Afrobeats acts.

From classroom rehearsals in Lekki to professional studio sessions across Lagos, the journey of these teenage talents signals a new chapter for the genre. With voices already resonating across the continent, Giddy Girls are redefining what young female artistry can look and sound like in Afrobeats.
