The average Australian has $172,834 saved in super, but a new report shows that while the gender gap is closing, men continue to have higher balances than women.
The report, from the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia, found that based on Australian Tax Office data to the end of June 2023 (the most recent available), the average super balance for men aged 15 and over was $192,119, and for women was $154,641.
