‘Plot twist’ Paloma Faith announces surprise pregnancy

Paloma Faith has made a surprise announcement: in a ‘plot twist’ she’s pregnant with her third child.

The singer, 44, who most recently took part in the inaugural season of Celebrity Traitors, was met with an outpouring of support upon her announcement.

On Friday, Paloma shared cool photos in which she debuted her growing baby bump, wearing a cropped sports top, a polka dot skirt, and a cap.

‘Plot twist, mother is mothering (again),’ Paloma wrote, joking about the fact that she’s 44 years old and pregnant, adding: ‘#MoreThanGeriatricPregnancy #OAPPregnancy #OAPMILF.’

The singer, who has been dating her boyfriend Stevie Thomas since splitting from her ex, also shared that she’s 18 weeks along.

Among those congratulating the star were Angela Scanlon and Traitors host Claudia Winkleman, who recently shared big news of her own: she’s departing Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly.

Paloma shares two daughters, born in December 2016 and February 2021, with her ex, Leyman Lahcine.

In the past, the Only Love Can Hurt Like This songstress has been candid about her IVF journey.

Speaking on LBC’s An Inconvenient Ruth podcast said she went on a ‘hormonal rollercoaster’ and found it to be an ‘undignified’ experience.

‘With IVF, I would be working and I would run to the toilet, do an injection, maybe hit a vein, be bleeding, run back having done it properly and, “Sorry, sorry”, and you’re like wincing,’ she said at the time.

‘And then you’re in this hormonal rollercoaster that’s not really real hormones, you’ve basically just injected them into yourself and then you’re like completely out of control of it,’ she continued.

Paloma told presenter Ruth Davidson that she has an ‘unromantic’ view of conceiving through IVF, admitting she felt like a ‘host’ for her baby.

‘I don’t know ‘cos I’ve never experienced a natural pregnancy, whether you have that feeling, being pregnant, of sort of giving up your body to something else in the same way if you do it naturally,’ she explained.

‘But I definitely feel like with IVF, I’ve always felt a bit like I’m sort of saying… It sounds really unromantic but I feel like the host.’
