Live Updates: No. 2 Allen vs. No. 7 Prosper for Texas Football District 6-6A Title; preview, scoring, highlights
Some might have predicted the District 6-6A title would come down to today’s game between No. 2 Allen (7-0, 5-0) and No. 7 Prosper (7-0, 5-0), and they would have been right.
They probably couldn’t have predicted the start time. Due to the threat of inclement weather, today’s game is set to kick off at 1 p.m. Central Time in Prosper.
While there will be less of a Friday night feel and more of a Saturday afternoon football vibe, the implications are the same. Not only is a coveted district championship on the line, but this outcome could have a big impact on playoff seeding.
Besides sharing a mascot and a perfect record, there are other similarities between the foes. Both teams are potent on offense and stingy on defense. Allen has the statistical edge in both categories, outscoring opponents 390-48 coming in. Prosper has outscored opponents 366-120.
These teams have had some dramatic games in their history, including Prosper’s 37-36 win in 2023 and 29-24 win in 2022. Allen is coming off a 56-7 win at home against Plano West. Prosper traveled to McKinney and tamed the Lions 59-0.
Last year’s showdown between the 6A Division I powers went Allen’s way, 22-7. Allen went on to a 13-1 record and reached the quarterfinals of the 6A-I playoffs before losing to eventual state champion North Crowley. Prosper finished 8-3 and suffered a first-round loss to Coppell.

Prosper enters the game leading all DFW 6A teams in average yards per game with 510.29 and is fourth in passing yards per game with 307.1. Allen, meanwhile, is second in DFW 6A points per game with 55.7 and has the sixth-most passing yards with 2,148.
Keep an eye on the battle between Prosper’s offensive line and Allen’s defensive front, as both units count among the best in Texas 6A.

The coin toss has been completed and the stands are filling up. Allen will receive the opening kick.
A touchback kicked things off and Allen’s first possession starts at its own 25.
Prosper’s defense forced a three-and-out and takes over at its own 43 with 10:34 left in the first quarter.
FIELD GOAL! On the heels of a 10-play drive, and after averting disaster at the Allen 13 by jumping on a fumbled exchange, Mikey Bukauskas drilled a 30-yard field goal with 6:04 left in the first to give Prosper a 3-0 lead.
KEY PLAY! Facing fourth-and-2 from the Prosper 25, Allen’s Jaden Hambric bullied his way for two yards to extend the drive.
The quarter ended with Allen driving at Prosper’s 22 facing third-and-9.
End 1: Prosper 3, Allen 0
Big Play! On the first play of the second quarter, southpaw quarterback Jeremiah Daoud found senior receiver Caleb Smith for a 10-yard gain.
TOUCHDOWN! With 11:19 left in the first half, junior running back Lyndon Spriggs scored on a 5-yard run. Allen’s offensive line was moving bodies on that drive. Allen leads Prosper, 7-3.
Prosper’s second drive began at its own 25.
TOUCHDOWN! Only two plays and 17 seconds after Allen scored, Tulsa commit Lathon Latiolais caught a quick slant from Braeden Imhoff and went 75 yards untouched, pulling away from the defense and faking a hamstring pull for his touchdown celebration. Prosper moved back in front, 10-7. That’s the 11th TD of the season for Latiolais.

Allen’s third drive began at its own 19.
TOUCHDOWN! Allen with a quick answer, and a track meet has broken out. Jeremiah Daoud threw a bomb from midfield to Carter Harris, who entered the game averaging 31.5 yards per catch, and he broke one tackle and took it 50 yards to the house with 9:44 left in the first half. Allen took back the lead, 14-10.

Prosper began the ensuing drive with its best field position, as Lathon Latiolais returned the kickoff to Prosper’s 35.
PUNT! Allen stopped Prosper for the first time, forcing a punt with 7:39 left in the half. The punt from Mikey Bukauskas, a three-star punter headed to Texas, only traveled 17 yards. Allen took over it at its own 32.
TOUCHDOWN! Lyndon Spriggs scored for the second time in the game. He took a wide receiver screen from Jeremiah Daoud, broke a tackle and raced 13 yards to make it 21-10 with 4:43 left in the half.

TURNOVER! Prosper ran a flea-flicker and got a huge play when Braeden Imhoff found Elliott Brown deep into Allen territory, but Allen’s Lebron Bauer stripped the ball from Brown at the Allen 23 and jumped on it for a huge momentum flip.
PUNT! Prosper forced a stop and Allen punted it back to Prosper’s 19 with 1:42 left in the half.
Texas Tech offensive line commit Bryce Gilmore exited with 1:20 left with an apparent left leg injury. He had to have help off the field but was quickly walking it off on the sidelines.
Prosper ran one more play after Gilmore’s injury and chose to let the first half clock expire with the ball at its own 32 with one timeout remaining.
HALFTIME: No. 2 Allen 21, No. 7 Prosper 10
Prosper began the second half at its own 24. Great news for Prosper, as Bryce Gilmore was back in at right tackle.
KEY MOMENT! Prosper quarteraback Braeden Imhoff threw a 40-yard TD strike to Lathon Latiolais on a perfectly thrown ball, but an offensive facemask penalty by Zaden Krempin erased the score and moved Prosper back 15 yards.
Prosper called its first timeout of the half with 9:17 remaining while facing fourth-and-9 from the Allen 35.
KEY PLAY! On fourth down, Prosper QB Braeden Imhoff found Marcus McCoy, who made a diving catch on an out-route at the Allen 18 to move the sticks.
TOUCHDOWN! Prosper running back Bryce Robinson unleashed a bruising 10-yard run and bullied his way into the end zone to pull his team within 21-17 with 8:13 left in the third quarter. That run capped a 12-play, 70-plus yard drive for Prosper. That score, however, was made possible by the terrific catch by McCoy on fourth-and-9.

Prosper’s defense forced a huge three-and-out and Allen punted it back to Prosper’s 40 with 6:42 left in the third.
TOUCHDOWN! Prosper reached into its bag of tricks, and Marcus McCoy and
Lathon Latiolais struck again. Prosper got away with one, as quarterback Braeden Imhoff threw a pass to McCoy, who threw a 41-yard touchdown to Latiolais on a trick-play double pass with 5:54 left. It appeared Imhoff’s pass moved forward as he was attempting to throw a lateral to McCoy, which should have negated the TD for an illegal forward pass when McCoy threw it. But officials didn’t see it that way and the play stood. Prosper leads Allen 24-21.

Allen chewed up more than 5 minutes on the ensuing drive and ended the third quarter still driving with the ball at Prosper’s 26.
End 3: No. 7 Prosper 24, No. 2 Allen 21
Allen missed a big opportunity on third down, as Caleb Smith sprung wide open with a chance to score a touchdown, but Jeremiah Daoud had a defender in his face and overthrew Smith by a couple of steps, leading to a field goal attempt.
MISSED FIELD GOAL! Allen attempted a 40-yard field goal with 11:04 left and Prosper took possession back at its own 23.
SACK! Allen got a very quick three-and-out thanks to a big sack by JT Shaw.
BAD PUNT! For the second time today, Allen got pressure on Mikey Bukauskas, who was punting from near his own end zone, and the punt only went 15 yards. Allen took over at Prosper’s 24.
FIELD GOAL! Right after missing wide left on a 40-yard attempt, Allen’s Preston Hurless drilled a 37-yard kick from the same hash with 6:52 left to tie the game 24-24.
TOUCHDOWN! With 5:27 left in the game, someone forgot to cover Prosper wide receiver Dallas Boozer on a mesh route, and Braeden Imhoff threw a quick pass to Boozer, who was all alone and raced 57 yards for the go-ahead TD. Prosper missed the PAT, but took the lead 30-24.
Allen quickly moved the ball to midfield with 4 minutes remaining.
BIG PLAY! On third-and-2 with under 3 minutes remaining, Jeremiah Daoud stepped up in the pocket and found Lyndon Spriggs down to the Allen 25. Jaden Hambric ran it down to the Prosper 14 at the 2-minute timeout.
TOUCHDOWN! Allen’s Jaden Hambric scored on a 10-yard run, muscling his way in with 1:12 to go. The PAT was good and Allen went back in front 31-30.
Allen’s kickoff went out of bounds, giving the ball to Prosper at its own 30 with 1:13 to go and needing to get into field goal range.
BIG PLAY! With 52 second left, Imhoff got smacked in the back and the ball fell incomplete, but a holding penalty on Allen moved the ball 10 yards and gave Prosper a new set of downs at midfield.
