West Ham want United striker Zirkzee
West Ham United are keen on Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, who is struggling for minutes under head coach Ruben Amorim.
The 24-year-old could be allowed to leave in the winter, according to the Evening Standard, with West Ham one club who could be interested.
The paper explains: “West Ham could be offered the chance to bolster their attack by signing Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee in January.
“The Dutch forward has struggled to earn regular game time at Old Trafford this season and is yet to start a single match in any competition.
“According to multiple reports, it has led to Zirkzee considering his options and he may well be on the move in January.
“West Ham are one of the clubs that have been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, who could be available on loan.”
United consider six midfield targets
Carlos Baleba, Conor Gallagher, Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson, Andrey Santos and Angelo Stiller could all be targets for Manchester United.
With Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo all linked with an Old Trafford exit, the club will need some reinforcements.
The Daily Express reports: “Manchester United are set to prioritise the addition of a midfielder in their next transfer window, with Carlos Baleba and Conor Gallagher among six potential targets.
“Ruben Amorim, the club’s manager, spent a significant portion of his summer budget on bolstering the attack, leaving insufficient funds for midfield reinforcements. The current options, including Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, have raised some doubts.
“Casemiro’s contract is nearing its end, while Fernandes continues to be associated with a high-profile departure. Young talent Kobbie Mainoo has yet to establish himself under Amorim, sparking rumours that he may also be transferred. Baleba was previously linked with a £100 million move to Old Trafford and was thought to be keen on a summer transfer, but the deal never materialised.
“Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson, two rising stars of English football, are also on United’s radar. Both players have experienced rapid career progress and are expected to feature at next summer’s World Cup, which will undoubtedly increase their market value.
“Chelsea playmaker Andrey Santos is also on United’s radar as an ambitious target.
“A less familiar name being monitored is Angelo Stiller of Stuttgart. The Germany international, who is open to a Premier League move, is thought to be under United’s watchful eye.”
Rashford keen on Barca switch
Another player who could leave Manchester United is forward Marcus Rashford, on loan at Barcelona.
There is a £26m option written into his loan deal that would allow the move to be made permanent.
The Telegraph writes: “Barcelona have an option to sign Rashford permanently for €30m (£26m) in the summer and the 27-year-old, whose contract with United runs until 2028, has admitted he hopes to extend his stay with the Spanish champions.
“Rashford’s move to Barcelona followed a loan spell at Aston Villa during the second half of last season after being exiled at United by Ruben Amorim.
“The forward, who is set to make his first appearance in El Clasico when Barcelona visit Real Madrid on Sunday, believes he is benefiting from a ‘new environment and culture’ after more than two decades at Old Trafford.”
United valued at £5 billion by Glazers
Manchester United’s majority owners, the Glazer family, would want around £5 billion to sell the club, according to The i Paper.
The paper suggests that Eric Cantona and David Beckham could be tapped up by a United Arab Emirates consortium to be part of any deal.
The outlet states: “From several conversations with people on various sides, The i Paper has established this secret consortium heralds from the United Arab Emirates.
“As reported elsewhere, they have approached numerous former United legends, including David Beckham and Eric Cantona, about becoming ambassadors for any potential bid.
“What The i Paper has also learned, however, is that these wealthy former players have also been approached about becoming investors. And much-needed ones.
“It is understood that the Glazers would only entertain offers of towards £5bn to sell at this stage – around double what the club is officially worth on the stock market.
“That is partly down to the fact if the Glazers sell before February 2027, they would have to give Ratcliffe $33 (£25) per share – what he paid in the first place – as per the terms of the initial investment.”
