Pedestrian dead after being hit by train, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police say a pedestrian was hit and killed by a train on Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train between American Way and Lamar Avenue around 4:30 a.m.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.
