Ukrainian refugees crucial to Carrick’s TidyTowns victory

Ukrainian refugees played a major role in Carrick-on-Shannon’s success in the TidyTowns – with half of the group from the war-town country.
The Leitrim town won the overall award in the SuperValu competition – as well as the small town category.
The competition has been running since 1958 and the awards ceremony was held in Croke Park today.
Carrick Tidy Towns Chairperson, John Gaffey has been reacting to the town’s success, speaking to Ronan Flanagan.
