Syracuse’s Kiyan Anthony, son of Carmelo, puts up highlights in college debut

Kiyan Anthony has officially taken the court in a Syracuse Orange basketball uniform.

Yep, that’s the son of Carmelo, and his college basketball career is underway.

Well, mostly. He made his SU debut in an exhibition game Saturday.

Syracuse played in Buffalo’s KeyBank Center (home of the NHL’s Sabres) against the University of Buffalo in the first of two exhibition games before the season begins.

Anthony didn’t start, but he got 17 minutes and played well in a 76-66 Orange win.

The final stats for Kiyan:

  • 10 points
  • 4-7 FG
  • 2-4 3FG
  • 1 steal
  • 1 block

He had some pretty sweet highlights, too:

Kiyan isn’t expected to start this season. He’s not the level of player as his dad, who led Syracuse to the national championship as a freshman in 2002-03.

But this Anthony has a bright future for the Orange, and the journey started on Saturday night.
