Wales legend Fishlock set to bow out of international scene versus Australia

Rhian Wilkinson’s side have a pair of home friendlies over the coming days, starting with tomorrow’s meeting with Australia at the Cardiff City Stadium. This is followed by Tuesday’s clash with Poland in Newport.

Jess Fishlock will bring the curtain down on her storied international career tomorrow, representing the country for the 166th and final time.

At the other end of the scale, there are eight uncapped players in the squad.

Poppy Soper, Teagan Scarlett and Tianna Teisar will be looking to make their senior debuts having been involved with previous squads, while Mia Ross, Annie Wilding, Gwen Zimmerman, Scarlett Hill and Amy Richardson are involved for the first time.

“This is the beginning of a new Euro cycle, a new four-year cycle begins,” said Wales boss Rhian Wilkinson.

“We know that we’ve got this great group of young players coming through our system that we’ve been developing through our academies, but equally through our talent ID.”
