Torino v Genoa Best Bets Preview

📈 Torino v Genoa Form & Stats

Torino finished 11th in Serie A last term, but a disappointing end to the campaign, with four defeats and one draw in their last five fixtures, has continued into the opening stages of this season.

Sunday’s hosts have managed two wins, two draws and three defeats from their opening seven Serie A fixtures, scoring just six times while conceding 13, leaving them 14th in the standings.

Their form at home has significantly improved in recent outings, though, as Torino have now won each of their last two home matches, including a notable 1-0 win over champions Napoli. Marco Baroni will be eager to build on that result and make it three straight home wins on Sunday.

The hosts will fancy their chances of doing exactly that when they take on Genoa, as the visitors had endured a challenging start to the campaign, including remaining one of only four teams yet to win a league match.

Genoa have drawn three and lost four of their seven Serie A games, scoring just three times and conceding nine, leaving them 20th in the standings with just three points.

Just one of their three points has come on the road this season, as Genoa scored a 92nd-minute equaliser against 10-man Como to steal a point in mid-September, though they have since lost their last two fixtures away from home.

Patrick Vieira will be desperate for an improved performance and result on Sunday, but history is certainly against them, as Genoa have failed to win any of their last 13 visits to Torino’s ground, with six draws and seven defeats across all competitions.
