Press conference | ‘They should be able to play that fun football Sunday as little as possible’
After the glorious victory over SSC Napoli (6-2), the next Topper is coming up. PSV will visit Feyenoord at De Kuip on Sunday. Head coach Peter Bosz is proud of his team after Tuesday, but says he is fully focused on Sunday. “That is a matter of training hard,” he said.
What did you enjoy most on Tuesday?
“From our good play, but of course also the fact that you win. And especially the way in which. We did very well and I am happy that we won that match like that. That gives courage for the next matches in Europe.”
What do you think of Dennis Man’s performance recently?
“He is doing very well. It is logical that guys from another country with a different culture and competition, need time. It is not a given that you are there from day one. You have to get used to the new club and players and it takes time to feel at home. But of course we can say that Dennis is doing very well now.”
What makes your team reach this high level?
“We have good football players, but those good players also have to play well together. That is a matter of training hard and sometimes having some luck. That is sometimes fateful to make a choice that feels right and then works out well. Just look at Guus Til in the striker position and Ismael more in attack. That cooperation runs perfectly and so do other guys on the field. That’s important.”
On Sunday, The Topper against Feyenoord is on the program. Are these the two best teams in the Netherlands?
“We will see at the end of the season. At the moment I think so, because of course we are in places one and two for a reason.”
What do you think of Feyenoord this season?
“I think they are doing well. A few weeks ago, as a football fan, I watched the game the Rotterdammers played against Aston Villa and I really liked it. I like the way they are playing under Robin van Persie, but for next Sunday we obviously have to make sure they can play that football as little as possible.”
Did everyone come out of the match against SSC Napoli fit?
“It has been a very tough match in which a lot of miles were covered and adrenaline was around the corner. Kilian Sildillia is training with the group on the pitch for the first time today, but we’ll have to see how that goes.”
