BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — Former Auburn and NFL star Cam Newton had an unexpected run-in during the Magic City Classic festivities in Birmingham.
While filming ESPN’s First Take, Newton got caught in what appeared to be lighthearted scuffle with the Alabama A&M Bulldog mascot after a footrace between the Bulldog and the Alabama State Hornet.

The brief mix-up drew quickly made its way across social media, even earning a silly Facebook post from Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin. “Cam Newton-1 Bulldogs Mascot-0,” said Woodfin.
