Amy Dowden has revealed to fans that ‘it’s officially happening’ in a significant announcement just weeks following her departure from Strictly Come Dancing.

The professional dancer was devastated to depart the BBC One dancing competition after she and her celebrity partner Thomas Skinner became the opening pair to be sent home from the 2025 series.

Their journey ended following an unexpected salsa routine to Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal and Armand van Helden during the second week, which garnered them merely a two from judge Craig Revel Horwood.

Following the combination of judges’ marks from the opening two live performances with the public voting results, Thomas and Amy ended up in the series’ inaugural dance-off against former rugby player Chris Robshaw and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova, whom the judges ultimately chose to keep in the competition.

At the moment of their exit, Amy struggled to hold back tears whilst paying homage to her dancing companion, expressing that she had “made a new friend for life” and that she was “gutted he didn’t get to do the ballroom”, reports the Manchester Evening News.

However, the dancer, who received a breast cancer diagnosis in 2023 which prevented her from participating in that year’s series, before a foot injury curtailed her involvement in the competition the following year, subsequently made a poignant confession.

“I lost all confidence as a dancer,” she revealed.

Yet praising Thomas, the Welsh performer continued: “But walking into the room with you with a massive smile and a laugh, you brought me back and, honestly, thank you.”

Amy has been keeping herself occupied, continuing to appear live in the ‘Clauditorium’ every Saturday night as the live shows go on.

She’s now revealed that 2026 is already looking promising as she’s set to hit the road again with her Strictly co-star and mate, Carlos Gu.

Fans will remember that the duo embarked on their first joint-headline tour earlier this year, named Amy and Carlos: Reborn, throughout March and early April.

The series of performances were a success for the pair, fulfilling their personal “dream” of performing on a West End Stage at London’s Adelphi Theatre.

And they’re about to do it all over again. Confirming the news on Friday (October 24), Amy posted a poster for the show along with a list of new dates, saying: “It’s officially happening and ON SALE FROM TODAY!”.
