Seasonally cool and dry weekend ahead

DETROIT – It’s a cool start to the day as high pressure builds in, clearing out the cloud cover.

We remain seasonally cool with increasing clouds later in the day. We can’t rule out an isolated shower in our northwestern communities this afternoon, but most of us will not see it.

Otherwise, dry weather returns today through this weekend with highs in the low 50s.

Weekend & Rivalry Forecast

Whether you are a Spartan or a Wolverine, we can all cheer for winning weather for the big rivalry game.

Plan for low 50s while tailgating and 40s throughout the game cloud cover.

We will be slightly warmer on Sunday, but still in the mid to upper 50s. A perfect fall day to hit the pumpkin patch or apple orchard.

Next Week & Early Look at Halloween

We stay in the 50s through next week with rain chances returning midweek.

The timing right now looks to be late Tuesday into Wednesday with a stray shower chance on Thursday.

A lot can change before next Friday, but long-range data is keeping us relatively dry with highs in the mid to upper 50s for Halloween.

However, plan for howling winds! Model data shows up to 30 mph wind gusts next Friday.

Fingers crossed that the weather is less of a trick and more of a treat!
