The long-awaited Battlefield 6 was released on Oct. 10, and players have been eagerly awaiting news on whether this new installment would have a battle royale gameplay mode coming.
Not only are players getting a battle royale mode but they’re also getting two other gameplay modes as well and the best part? It’s all free.
Like its predecessors, Battlefield 6 is a first-person shooter game that features four different character classes: assault, engineer, support and recon, which all have special abilities players can utilize.
Now, players will be able to play three other modes to create their own Battlefield 6 experience. Here’s what we know so far about the new battle royale.
Is battle royale coming to Battlefield 6?
Yes, fans of Battlefield 6 are about to get a whole new way to play with the battle royale game mode.
This mode will have 100-player matches where classic battle royale gameplay gets mixed into the Battlefield 6 formula. Players can find rare loot, hoard armor plates and complete mission with friends among other things in this new mode.

Is Battlefield 6 doing a BR?
Not only is battle royale coming to Battlefield 6 but players will have two additional game mode options to choose from including Gauntlet mode which is an elimination-driven gameplay. So, instead of 100-player matches, this new mode features eight squads with four players each that are spread out across Fort Lyndon.
Then there’s Portal mode which is making a comeback from Battlefield 2042. According to ign.com, “REDSEC Portal looks more Grand Theft Auto Online than Battlefield, but that also seems to be what EA and BF Studios are going for.” This mode has “limitless game-creation tools” and is an opportunity for players to get creative.
Where can I download Battlefield 6 battle royale?
Players will need to download Battlefield RedSec ahead of launch and have it installed.
Go to Settings, then System before going to Setup and then select Install/Uninstall. Check the Battlefield REDSEC and wait for it to install.
