Celebrity Traitors’ Alan Carr gives update on friendship with Paloma Faith after murdering her

Celebrity Traitors has so far given us some incredibly memorable moments, but none more so than Alan Carr murdering his friend Paloma Faith in plain sight.

His decision to kill off one of his close friends meant the singer was the first person to leave the show, and she wasn’t happy about it. And now Alan has spoken about where his friendship stands with her, following his shocking betrayal.

“I’m killing people willy nilly – I’ve got a real taste for it. I killed Paloma Faith. She’s not happy about it,” he said on DJ Norman Cook’s podcast Life’s a Beach.

When asked if he was friends with Paloma, the Drag Race UK judge replied: “Well, I was…”

He added: “She said, ‘If you were a real friend, you wouldn’t have killed me.’ But I said, ‘I’m the Traitor! The show’s called The Traitors – it does what it says on the tin.

“There’ve been a few little TikToky things where she says I’ve let her down because I killed her in plain sight.

“It’s like going on Naked Attraction and being told, what, I have to take my knickers off? You know what you’re signing up for!”

As the murder had to happen in front of other people, Alan said it was easier to choose someone he was close to and wipe the poison of a poisoned lily on to her face.

“I can’t start stroking Stephen Fry’s face and Celia Imrie’s – not at my age! I look creepy as it is,” he said.

Carr added he’s planning on making it up to Paloma, saying: “I’m going to take her for dinner. I love her. I’m such a big fan of her and she’s the best – but no one wants to be murdered first on a show. I panicked.”

Despite being branded a “rubbish” Traitor early on, Alan has so far gone undetected by the contestants. But so have the rest of the Traitors. Not one has been discovered yet, making this year’s cast the worst Faithfuls when it comes to statistics.

The Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One.
