Starbucks app outage leaves customers furious amid widespread Amazon Web Services disruption

The Starbucks app is down for thousands of users on Monday morning, with many taking to social media to voice their frustrations

Thousands of Starbucks users reported problems with the app on Monday morning, leaving many unable to place their orders ahead of time.
The outage kicked off sometime after 6 a. m. and reached its peak around 9 a. m.
Frustrated customers took to social media to vent, with one user posting: “@Starbucks app being down on a Monday is just..”

Another person complained, “The Starbucks app is down, and now I have to go in and order like a peasant. “
The disruption comes amid a wider Amazon Web Services outage that also impacted other popular apps including Reddit, Hinge, and Snapchat.

For countless Americans, the Monday morning chaos proved too much to handle.
“The starbies drive-thru is bumpin!” one user wrote, adding: “@Starbucks, we need a minimum of 300 stars for this app inconvenience.”
Another customer slammed the coffee chain for experiencing a second outage in just a few months.
“Fix this problem….it’s beyond frustrating.”
One frustrated user called the Monday morning app failure “nasty work.”
Amazon Web Services confirmed an “operational issue” on Monday, impacting “multiple services” in northern Virginia, a critical center in its worldwide data operations.
While an update stated that the problem “has been fully mitigated,” numerous users continued experiencing difficulties.
“Most AWS Service operations are succeeding normally now. Some requests may be throttled while we work toward full resolution,” Amazon revealed in a statement. The company explained that the outage was due to problems with its DynamoDB service, a database software used for mobile apps and websites.
