Bucks guard Ryan Rollins gets heartfelt gift from Warriors legend Steph Curry after big game

Rollins, Portis and Rivers speak on Bucks’ 120-110 win over Warriors
Ryan Rollins, Bobby Portis and Doc Rivers speak on the Bucks’ 120-110 win over the Warriors on Oct. 30, 2025 at Fiserv Forum.
A locker room attendant ferried a special gift from the Golden State Warriors’ locker room in Fiserv Forum down the hall to the Milwaukee Bucks’ Ryan Rollins.
It was a No. 30 Golden State Warriors jersey signed by Steph Curry after Rollins’ career-high 32 points in a 120-110 victory by Milwaukee on Oct. 30.
It might seem to casual NBA fans that Rollins has come out of nowhere this season for the surprising Bucks. But he was actually a draft-day acquisition by the Warriors in 2022 after being the No. 44 pick out of Toledo.
Rollins got to spend time learning from the legendary Curry.
“That’s my guy,” Rollins said after the game. “He was my locker neighbor my first year. My first year was very fast for me, too, so he was a great, like, down-to-earth dude.
“Him being Steph Curry, him just being so down-to-earth and humble in how he talked to me when I was just coming in and for who he was at that time, his stature, (it was) very humbling. That’s a great thing that I witnessed my first year, so it’s great that I got a jersey.
“I’m going to hang it up on the wall somewhere, for sure.”
Rollins shot a Curry-like 5-for-7 on 3-pointers, and played some very physical defense against his one-time mentor.
“It was nice,” Rollins said. “It was fun, man, that’s probably the best way I can put it.
“It was fun just being able to go out there and get … I wouldn’t say get the best of him … but just coming out with the win and just bumping with him. Being able to do that in an actual game, back and forth, tonight.”
About 30 yards away, Curry had high praise for the Bucks guard who has set career highs in back-to-back games. Rollins only played in 12 games for the Warriors and was dealt to the Washington Wizards along with Milwaukee native Jordan Poole and former UW-Milwaukee star Patrick Baldwin Jr. in 2023.
“He asked me,” Curry said when asked why he gave Rollins a jersey.
“That’s my guy, though, from his rookie year. Obviously it was a tough situation with the trade and all that. But I’m happy for him. He’s super-talented and another mid-major guy trying to make his name in the league.”
