Pacers sign 3-time Dunk champion Mac McClung to deal

Explosive guard Mac McClung is on board with the Pacers after developing his craft in the G League.

Mac McClung has three straight slam dunk titles, and now he can claim a multiyear contract for the first time.

Per multiple reports, the 6-foot-2 guard has agreed to a deal with the Pacers following their rash of backcourt injuries that limited Indiana’s options at a time they were already without lead guard Tyrese Haliburton due to a torn Achilles. McClung officially signed his deal on Tuesday.

McClung has played just six games across three NBA seasons but has found consistent success in the NBA G League, earning back-to-back All-G League honors (2024-25) and the G League MVP award for his standout 2023-24 campaign.

That season, he averaged 25.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists while shooting 47.0% from the field, including 36.0% on 8.9 3-point attempts per game.

The Pacers are expected to release James Wiseman, the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 Draft, in a corresponding move. The 7-footer’s contract was partially guaranteed as he continued to recover from a torn Achilles.

Wiseman appeared in his first game in more than a year on Saturday, tallying 4 points, 4 rebounds and a block in 20 minutes against the Grizzlies.
