The Craven County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Dominic Liam Connelly, 24, who is wanted in connection with the death of his grandmother, Patricia Lopedote, 72.
Officials say Lopedote was found deceased inside her Havelock home on October 25, following a structure fire.

An investigation identified Connelly as the suspect, and he is now facing charges of murder, first-degree arson, and larceny of a motor vehicle. Lopedote’s vehicle, initially missing, was discovered in a parking lot on Pine Tree Drive, near the baseball fields, unoccupied in New Bern on October 28.
Authorities have issued a warrant for Connelly’s arrest and warn that anyone aiding him in evading capture will face criminal charges.
