Smriti Mandhana becomes the second Indian after Mithali Raj to score over 1000 ODI runs against Australia during the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 semifinal.

India’s Smriti Mandhana surpassed the 1000-run mark against Australia in Women’s one-day internationals during their ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 semi-final at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
Smriti is just the second Indian after Mithali Raj to cross the landmark and the 10th batter overall to do so.

Debbie Hockley from New Zealand played from 1982 to 2000. In 51 matches and innings, she scored 1,664 runs, with one century and 13 fifties, averaging 36.97. Her highest score was 100, and she was dismissed for zero four times.
Amy Satterthwaite, also from New Zealand, played between 2007 and 2022. She scored 1,475 runs in 46 matches, with two centuries and seven fifties, averaging 35.97. Her best score was 109.
Suzie Bates has been playing from 2007 to 2025. In 35 matches, she has scored 1,173 runs, including three centuries and seven fifties, at an average of 35.54. Her highest score is 122 not out.
Haidee Tiffen, another New Zealand batter, made 1,131 runs in 50 matches between 1999 and 2009. She had seven fifties and averaged 25.13.
India’s Mithali Raj scored 1,123 runs from 2003 to 2022. She played 37 matches with nine fifties, averaging 34.03, and her best score was 89.
England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt has scored 1,120 runs since 2013, with an impressive average of 56.00. She has four centuries and four fifties, with a highest score of 148 not out.
Charlotte Edwards from England made 1,092 runs between 1997 and 2015, with 10 fifties and an average of 26.63.
Nicola Browne of New Zealand scored 1,083 runs from 2002 to 2013, including six fifties, at an average of 28.50.
Emily Drumm, also from New Zealand, made 1,050 runs between 1992 and 2005, with seven fifties and an average of 26.25.
India’s Smriti Mandhana has scored 1,016 runs since 2016, averaging 50.80. She has already made four centuries and six fifties, with a highest score of 125.
Breaking Mithali’s Records…
Earlier in the tournament, when India and Australia had faced off in the league phase, Mandhana had broken Mithali Raj’s record of the most 50+ scores in women’s ODIs against the Australian team.
During her 23-year-long ODI career, Mithali played 37 matches against the Southern Stars, scoring 1123 runs and hitting nine half-centuries. In comparison, the ongoing match in Vizag is Mandhana’s 20th ODI against the seven-time ODI World Cup winners, and she has scored four centuries and six fifties.
