Dallas Stars acquire forward Samu Tuomaala from Philadelphia Flyers

The Dallas Stars acquired forward Samu Tuomaala from the Philadelphia Flyers in a trade on Thursday, the team announced.

Tuomaala, 22, was selected by Philadelphia in the second round (No. 46 overall) of the 2021 NHL draft. He has not yet played a game at the NHL level.

The Oulu, Finland native finished the 2024-25 campaign with 32 points (11 goals, 21 assists) in 46 AHL contests.

Tuomaala, who has not scored a point yet this season, will be assigned to the Texas Stars, Dallas’ AHL affiliate.

In exchange for Tuomaala, Dallas sent defenseman Christian Kyrou to Philadelphia.

Kyrou, 22, was originally selected by Dallas in the second round (No. 50 overall) of the 2022 NHL draft.
