Grigor Dimitrov vs Daniil Medvedev Preview: Head-to-Head and Prediction for Paris Masters 2025

One of the second-round matches at the 2025 Paris Masters will be an exciting matchup between former runner-up Grigor Dimitrov and former champion Daniil Medvedev. On his return, the Bulgarian showed no rust, getting the better of Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first round, winning 7-6 (5), 6-1 against the Frenchman.

He got the better of Adam Walton, Fabian Marozsan, James Duckworth, and Corentin Moutet in the final. He started confidently at the Paris Masters, winning 6-1, 6-1 over Jaume Munar in the first round.

Dimitrov vs Medvedev Head-to-Head
After 11 meetings, Medvedev has a dominant 8-3 head-to-head record against Dimitrov. The last time they played each other was at Wimbledon last year, where the Bulgarian had to retire in the middle of the first set. One of the Bulgarian’s three wins over the Russian came at the Paris Masters in 2023, but Medvedev has won the other three matches on indoor hard courts.
Dimitrov vs Medvedev Prediction
In his previous match against Mpetshi Perricard, Dimitrov was dominant on his serve, winning 79% and 67% of first-serve and second-serve points, respectively. Against a big server, the Bulgarian was aggressive on break-point opportunities, converting three of the five he earned.
Medvedev was at his best against Munar in the previous round, winning 81% of first-serve points but was not as effective on his second serve. He broke his opponent four times and did not concede a single break point in the match.

This is Dimitrov’s 13th appearance at the Paris Masters, with the Bulgarian holding a 26-12 win-loss record at the competition. His best result came at the 2023 edition, when he reached the final. Meanwhile, this is Medvedev’s ninth appearance, with the Russian winning the title in 2023. However, since 2021, this is the first time he has won his opening match, having lost in the first round in each of the last three years.
Dimitrov will need to be aggressive on second-serve returns to have a chance against Medvedev, while the Russian must make as many first serves as possible. Overall, Medvedev is the favorite to win, having recently claimed a title indoors and holding a favorable head-to-head record against Dimitrov.
Pick: Medvedev to win in straight sets
