King Charles’ Royal Showdown With Prince Andrew & Sarah Ferguson Reaches Its ‘Ugliest’ Point

King Charles III tried to prevent the Royal Lodge mess he’s currently in with Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, but his younger brother has been winning the battle for the last three years.
The stalemate over getting Andrew to move might be about to change, according to The Sun, especially since the disgraced royal and his ex-wife are under “immense pressure” to vacate their beloved residence.
“The palace has been trying to get Andrew and Sarah to leave Royal Lodge for almost three years now,” a source explained to the outlet. “But it’s the ugliest it has ever been. Claims and counterclaims about who was offered what and when show it’s not going well.”

Charles initially attempted to persuade Andrew to move into Frogmore Cottage after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were evicted in early 2023. Andrew resisted for a year, leaning into the fact that he had an ironclad lease on Royal Lodge — but the recent revelation that he hasn’t paid rent in 20 years is a really bad look for the palace.
The Sun reported on Oct. 25 that Andrew would receive Frogmore Cottage and Ferguson would live in Adelaide Cottage, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s soon-to-be former home. Now, the outlet is saying royal sources are now denying that the former Duchess of York is getting any residence out of the deal, which they’ve dubbed “Siege of Royal Lodge.”
King Charles is reportedly trying to reclaim some of his royal legacy, which has been marred with scandals, feuds, and affairs over the decades. With William’s urging, the monarch is finally empowering himself to do the right thing since the Jeffrey Epstein issue isn’t going away.
“Charles is sending a very deliberate message,” Rob Shuter wrote in his Oct. 27 Naughty But Nice Substack. “No one — not even his brother — is above accountability. The new era of the monarchy is about service, not scandal.”
Andrew and Ferguson’s downfall isn’t surprising, but it’s shocking that it took so long for the palace to take action. The punishment has left Ferguson reportedly “devastated and furious,” even though Shuter noted that she’s been “clinging to the title and the Lodge because they’re her last links to royal life.”
King Charles has one job here, and it’s time for him to enforce boundaries with the rogue duo.
Shuter concluded, “But Charles is cutting ties to the past — and this time, the monarchy is moving on without her.”
