Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins preview
The Baltimore Ravens were among the favourites to win the Super Bowl this season but if that is to happen they’re going to have to do it the hard way after a 2-5 start. It’s not impossible, especially as quarterback Lamar Jackson is set to return from injury against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night after missing the last three games.
The Ravens were able to win with back-up Tyler Huntley at QB against the Bears on Sunday as their other injury worries eased, but the Dolphins won for only the second time this season in Week Eight too, upsetting the Falcons on the road.
The Dolphins are potentially being underrated in the handicap market as underdogs of more than a touchdown, but the best bet on the game could be to take the over on total points with both teams possessing plenty of offensive talent and being vulnerable defensively.
The Ravens’ defence looked better against the Bears, but they still gave up 372 yards and the Bears converted six of their 13 third-down attempts. The Ravens’ offence were more impressive after their bye the week before and John Harbaugh’s team are looking forward to a stronger second half of the season.
The Dolphins surprisingly dominated in their 34-10 victory in Atlanta as they ran for 141 yards and QB Tua Tagovailoa had his best game of the season with four touchdown passes. The Dolphins crucially have the speed to test the Baltimore defence.
Miami have had one of the worst rushing defences in the league this season and with conditions likely to be pleasant, offences should have the better of things.
