Brand new Victor Wembanyama has ultimate chance to squash a growing pest

Heading into a matchup with the Miami Heat on Thursday night, there is a lot at stake. Both squads are red hot and looking to extend their respective winning streaks. The Spurs have used Victor Wembanyama’s colossal start to earn four straight victories; meanwhile, the Heat are streaking with three wins of their own.
While there are many talking points in this high-intensity matchup, perhaps the biggest of them comes in the form of Kel’el Ware. The Miami big man has been quite successful against the Spurs and will look to keep the momentum going as he faces San Antonio once again. However, Wembanyama would like to have a word.
Kel’el Ware been shockingly successful against the Spurs
So far in his young career, second-year big man Kel’el Ware has loved playing against San Antonio. While many players would typically think the opposite, that is not the case for Ware.
Last season, in a mid-January matchup against San Antonio, the rookie posted one of his best stat lines of the year. Accumulating 25 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks, Ware had his way. Following up on this impressive performance, the bouncy center had his best preseason stat line against the Spurs.
It is clear that the 21-year-old is unafraid of the Spurs and Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs will have a strenuous time slowing down the youngster and his quest to conquer the almighty big man. However, things may be different this time around.
Victor Wembanyama vs Kel’el Ware will be the matchup of the night
While Ware had had success against Victor Wembanyama in the past, that doesn’t automatically mean it will happen again. The Spurs superstar is reloaded this season and has put on an absurd amount of strength. In this newly pitted mini-rivalry, the Alien will be heavily focused on preventing Ware from succeeding once again.
The pair will be plotting against each other all night long, with both ready to make a statement. Wembanyama will need to bring his typical interior dominance to subdue the efforts of Ware. Although consistently excellent, the superhuman will need to maximize his efforts to stop whatever kind of streak Ware has been on.
I expect our superstar to show Ware who’s boss, but anything could happen. If Ware continues his success, some questions will need to be answered, like whether he’s Victor Wembanyama’s kryptonite. Stay tuned to find out. Keep your eyes peeled for this exciting matchup and hope that Vic can bring an end to this strange stretch.
