We’ve got a cracker of a TNF to enjoy in Florida.
It’s funny how one gameweek can change how you look at things. A couple of weeks ago when we were looking at the schedule for Thursday Night Football this game stood out as a bit of a clunker. A flailing Ravens team without Lamar Jackson going south to face a Dolphins team that had about as bad a vibes as anywhere in the NFL? It did not excite us.
But now? Jackson is expected to make his return and the Ravens had an excellent weekend, not only beating the Bears but also seeing the Steelers and the Bengals both lose. Miami meanwhile, produced one of the results of the weekend as they stomped over the playoff-chasing Falcons.
These teams still have just four wins between them, but we are suddenly very excited to see how this plays out down in Florida. Let’s see what Peter Sharland is tipping…

Lamar Jackson over 1.5 passing touchdowns
So far this season Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford lead the NFL with 17 passing touchdowns. They’ve played eight and seven games respectively. Lamar Jackson has 10 passing touchdowns in the four games he’s played. Jackson wasn’t playing perfectly before his injury, but he was still playing pretty impressively. We don’t love the idea of a rushing bet in his first game back after a hamstring injury so, despite what the Dolphins did to the Falcons passing attack (albeit led by Kirk Cousins), we’re going with Jackson to throw at least two touchdowns. That’s something he did in his first three games before only throwing one in the game against KC where he got injured.
Zay Flowers over 5.5 total receptions
The second of our Ravens bets sees us look at Zay Flowers and his reception line, which is set at 5.5. In the first four games of the season Flowers had seven receptions in three of them. The other one was the loss to Detroit where he was only targeted three times but that was just a weird anomaly in his season. After Jackson went down Flowers has kept up a good pace with receptions despite having Cooper Rush and Tyler Huntley throwing to him, having five, six and seven receptions in his last three games. With Jackson back we expect him to clear his over.
Derrick Henry anytime touchdown scorer
We also like the King to get a touchdown anytime. It’s been a tough old season for Derrick Henry at times but it feels as if in the last two games he’s gotten back on track a bit. We’re going with an anytime touchdown rather than yards just for that consistency. He’s got six of them this season (good for joint-fifth in the NFL in terms of rushing TDs) and we fancy him to find the endzone in this one.
De’Von Achane over 56.5 rushing yards
As we mentioned earlier, the Dolphins have had some pretty bad vibes at times but through the darkness watching De’Von Achane is just an absolute joy. Achane is eighth in the NFL with 539 rushing yards and he’s gone over his line (56.5) in each of his last three games. The Ravens have been a middle of the road defense this season so we have no real concerns about Achane here.
Jaylen Waddle over 63.5 receiving yards
Jaylen Waddle isn’t that far behind Achane in the fun rankings. He’s also had a great season with his 504 receiving yards placing him 12th in the NFL. Similar to Achane he’s had a good run of form recently, going for 95 yards or more in three of his last four games. He did get blanked (one reception for 15 yards) in the brutal loss in Cleveland but aside from that he’s been excellent recently and we like where his line is at with it being set at 63.5.
