Can Pride of Jenni replicate her 2023 performance and win this year’s Empire Rose Stakes?

“Fortune favours the brave” was Matt Hill’s famous call as Pride of Jenni announced herself to Australia in the 2023 edition of the Empire Rose Stakes.
It was this Flemington race that Jenni truly adopted her incredible ‘catch me if you can’ racing style, as she skipped out to eight lengths in front and held on to win her first Group 1.
From that moment on, Jenni captured a nation, and now she returns to where it all started.
However, this could be a race that is decided before it even starts, and how the track plays out throughout the day will be telling.

The two favourites—Fangirl and Pride of Jenni—have the most polar opposite racing styles.
Fangirl, a notorious back marker, whilst Jenni is the bravest of leaders.
But Jenni will need to erase her recent second and third up woes if she is any chance this Saturday.
Her form off a freshen up has been stellar, winning her last three – but she has yet to salute for a victory second or third up in over a year.
But you can never discount a horse like Jenni, who has found that winning form this preparation.
She won the Group 2 Ladbrokes Feehan Stakes at Mooney Valley in fine fashion, whilst she was also only three lengths off Ceolwulf in a hard-fought King Charles III Stakes at Randwick last up.
Since the 2023 rendition of this race, Jenni has gone on to win another two Group 1s, three Group 2s, and the All-Star Mile, establishing her as one of the best horses of the decade.
Another win in this race could take Jenni into superstardom.
