Streaming service Sling TV will pay $530,000 in civil penalties for allegedly failing to provide consumers an easy way to prevent their data from being sold or shared, California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced Thursday.
The enforcement action stems from the attorney general’s 2024 investigative sweep into streaming services under the California Consumer Privacy Act.
“My office is committed to the continued enforcement of the CCPA — every Californian has the right to their online privacy, especially in the comfort of their living room,” Bonta said in a statement.
