Auburn Police with safety tips for the ghouls and goblins this halloween

Auburn Police Lieutenant Stephanie Hayward said visibility is the number one priority for Halloween safety. “We know that ghouls and goblins want to be spooky and dark but you want to make sure that you’re visible. So glow sticks, flashlights, anything that can keep you bright and vibrant for those motorists going by. We also want to make sure that everyone is staying on the sidewalk. If there’s no sidewalks available, staying to the side of the road. Traveling in a group is always recommended. It’s great to stay in numbers and making sure you’re staying with your guardians and your parents.”
Homeowners can do their part as well, “People will have their lights on. Kids are going to know that’s where they can go. It’s a safe home to go for trick or treating. Any sort of Halloween lights are great. The purple, the orange, just keep things visible for everybody.”
