The Seattle Seahawks will have been pleased with the work they did before their bye last week, getting off to a 5-2 start, and they are unbeaten on the road as they prepare to visit the Washington Commanders in the Sunday Night Football game in Week Nine.
The home team have had only six days to prepare after their loss in Kansas City on Monday but they remain in the primetime spotlight with quarterback Jayden Daniels hoping to return to action after an injury.

Seattle Seahawks at Washington Commanders preview
The Commanders are in a slump as they prepare to host the Seahawks on Sunday night with three consecutive defeats dropping them to 3-5 for the season. It won’t be easy for them to turn things around with NFC leading lights the Seahawks and Lions up next, but they should be boosted by the return of starting quarterback Jayden Daniels.
Dan Quinn’s team went down 28-7 in Kansas City in a one-sided contest and they have more injury issues as offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil picked up a hamstring problem and wide receiver Terry McLaurin aggravated a quad issue on his return to action.
The situation could spark a backs-to-the-wall effort from the Commanders at a key point in their season and even if that doesn’t help them cover the handicap, they can contribute to a higher-scoring game than the market expects.
The Seahawks offence looks good with a powerful running-back duo of Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet, while wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has had at least 123 receiving yards and a touchdown in three successive games.
The Commanders defence allow too many explosive plays and struggle to stop teams converting once they are in the red zone. The fate of the total will probably be decided by the output of their offence and Daniels’ return should help on that front.
In Week Five, they scored 27 on the road against the Chargers, gaining 7.1 yards per play, and a return to that level of performance in front of a demanding home crowd could help to take the total over.
