20 bonfire and fireworks displays lighting up Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire

Remember, remember, bonfire season is almost here. Despite a tale of treason and plot, us Brits love to celebrate the tale of Guy Fawkes’ plan gone wrong, and what better way than with the bang of fireworks and the burning of a bonfire.

There are plenty of locations in and around Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire where you can get cosy and watch the bonfire with loved ones. We’ve put together a list of bonfire night celebrations within an hours drive of the Six Towns.

From dates and times to ticket prices, we’ve listed everything you need to know to get prepared for the spectacular evening. Get in touch with our Facebook page to let us know of any bonfire night celebrations that haven’t been listed below.

Betley Bonfire – Betley Court Farm, Main Road, Betley, CW3 9BH

Year after year Betley Bonfire never fails to astound visitors with possibly the biggest bonfire near Stoke-on-Trent. Fireworks are also a huge part of the display, and there’s also plenty of rides, fairground attractions, food and drinks to keep guests entertained. It will take place on Saturday November 1 from 4pm, with the bonfire being lit at 6pm and fireworks from 8pm.

Early bird tickets have already sold out. An adult ticket costs £15.98 and a child’s ticket costs £12.78 which can be bought online here . Car parking is free, however early attendance is advised as this is a huge event, and some visitors could have to park more than half an hour away from the venue as parking spaces are limited.

Alton Towers Fireworks Display – Farley Lane, Alton, ST10 4DB

For three days Alton Towers is rounding out the theme park season with a bang. From November 7 to 9, visitors can watch the spectacular display – which is said to be ‘one of the best in the UK’, especially as guests can ride rollercoasters in the dark and watch the fireworks from a whole different perspective.

Advance booking is recommended as this is usually a sell out event. Tickets start from £39 and can be bought here . Car parking fees apply unless you’re staying in the hotels or on-site accommodation.

Lions Club Fireworks – Fenton Park, Victoria Road, ST4 2HQ

The Lions Club are holding their annual fireworks night at Fenton Park on Wednesday November 5, and it’s usually one of the Six Towns busiest events. As well as the firework display, there will also be funfair attractions hosted by Stanworths Fun Fair, and music from ‘PJ Wacky DJ’.

Gates open from 5.30pm with fireworks lit from 7.45pm. Tickets cost £8 with under 5’s entry free of charge, or visitors can buy a family ticket for two adults and two children for £25. Tickets can be brought on the gate or in advance here .

Trentham Rugby Club Firework Extravaganza – New Inn Lane, Trentham, ST4 8BE

An evening for friends and family to enjoy, fireworks, food and drink, and a welcoming atmosphere will be taking place on Sunday November 2. Gates open at 5.30pm and tickets cost £5 per person or £15 for a family ticket.

Staffordshire Fireworks Extravaganza – Staffordshire County Showground, Weston Road, Stafford, ST18 0BD

Back with a bang is Staffordshire Fireworks Extravaganza taking place on Sunday November 2 – and it sells out every year. Stanworth Fun Fairs are also hosting the entertainment at this firework display.

Gates open from 4pm with the firework display being lit from 7pm, and parking is free. Tickets must be booked online with adult tickets costing £13.70 per person and children at £3.96 and can be booked here .

The Lawton Arms Firework Display – Liverpool Road West, Church Lawton, ST7 3DL

The Lawton Arms is hosting its own firework display on Sunday November 9 from 3pm. It offers fairground rides, popcorn, candy floss, doughnuts, loaded fries, burgers and hot dogs, with the firework show at 6pm.

Tickets cost £2 per adult and children go free. Visitors should ask at the pub for tickets and more information.

Halloween Fireworks at The Ash Inn – 91 Mow Cop Road, Mow Cop

This is a free event hosted by The Ash Inn for families and members of the community to enjoy. It will have outdoor food, beer stalls and small fair rides along with the display.

No tickets are required. The event starts at 7pm on Saturday October 25.

Werrington Bonfire & Fireworks Display – Werrington Scouts and Guides, Clarkson Hall Bridle Path, Werrington, ST2 9EG

This annual event is hosting a bonfire, fireworks, games, funfair rides and an array of food – including a cake stall by Bakesbymilie. The event takes place on Saturday November 8 with gates opening at 6.30pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm, and fireworks from 7.45pm.

Tickets can be bought on the gate for £5, or online with single tickets at £3.50 or family tickets at £12.50 for a group of four. Tickets can be bought online here .

Shakes on the Rocks Firework Display – Wickenstone Farm, 129 New St, Biddulph Moor, ST8 7NW

Shakes on the Rocks has teamed up with Pyro Bear Pyrotechnics to ‘light up the sky’ in its very first fireworks display. There will be food and treats available during the event which will take place on Wednesday November 5 from 7pm.

There is limited parking available, so visitors are encouraged to arrive early to avoid disappointment. Tickets currently cost £8 per adult and £6 per child and are free for under 2s. Ticket prices will increase from October 29 and can be bought online only here .

Bonfire Night at The Star Camping and Caravanning Club Site – Alton, ST10 3DW

The Star Camping and Caravanning Club is hosting its very first bonfire night on Saturday November 8 from 6pm. Fireworks will be lit at 9pm, kids go free and adult tickets cost £5 and can be bought here .

Bonfire & Fireworks Display at Knypersley Cricket Club – ST8 7AQ

On Friday October 31 Knypersley Cricket Club will be hosting its annual bonfire and fireworks display which includes a beer tent, a BBQ and confectionary for guests to enjoy. There will also be a free family disco inside the club following the display.

Gates open at 5.30pm with the bonfire lit at 7pm and fireworks from 7.30pm. Tickets can be bought in advance for £8 for anyone aged over 13, £5 for children under 12 and over 65s, and family tickets for two adults and two children for £20. There will be a different entrance gate for those purchasing tickets on the night, where over 13s will cost £10 each and family tickets won’t be available.

Bonfire Night at Meir Heath Cricket Club – Willow Lane, Meir Heath, ST3 7NA

Meir Heath Cricket Club is hosting a Bonfire Night celebration filled with fireworks, food, and fun for all to enjoy. Taking place on Friday November 7 from 6.30pm, there will be an array of food trucks and outside bars to keep guests refreshed.

Tickets cost £10 per adult and under 16s go free. This is a ticket only event which must be bought in advance as they will not be available on the gate.

Uttoxeter Lions Bonfire and Fireworks Display – Oldfields Road, Uttoxeter, ST14 7QL

The Uttoxeter Lions have been organising the bonfire and fireworks display for 50 years and visitors can expect an evening of fun and entertainment this Saturday November 1. There will be several food stalls and soft drinks will be available on the night too.

Gates open at 6pm, a children’s firework display will begin at 6.50pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the main fireworks display will begin at 7.30pm. Family tickets for two adults and up to four children cost £20 and anyone over four years old pay £6 per person which can be bought here . Tickets bought on the night will cost £8 per person.

Porthill Park Cricket Club Firework Display – Knutton Road, Wolstanton, ST5 0HU

This annual firework display will be taking place on Saturday November 1 with gates opening at 5.30pm. As well as the fireworks, you can expect food, drink and music to enjoy on the night.

Advanced family tickets can be bought for £5 less than usual at £20, with adult tickets costing £10 and £5 for kids. Ticket purchases and enquiries can be made at the club.

Eccleshall Cricket Club & Scouts Fireworks Night – ST21 6NA

Promising that the night ‘will be lit’, this fireworks display will be taking place on Saturday November 8 from 5pm, with the display beginning at 7pm. Live music by Bella Leyland-Littlehales will be performed, too.

There will also be a range of hot and cold beverages available. Tickets can be bought here .

Congleton Rotary Annual Bonfire and Fireworks Night – Congleton Park, Park Road, CW12 1JG

Two shows will be taking place at this event on Saturday November 1. Two shows will be taking place, one at 6.30pm with silent fireworks, and another at 7.30pm with noisy fireworks.

A torchlight procession and lighting of the bonfire will begin from 6pm, with gates opening from 5pm. Tickets can be bought in advance here and are cheaper than offered on the night.

Biddulph Moor Village Hall Fireworks Display – Hot Lane, Biddulph, ST8 7HP

Biddulph Moor Village Hall is celebrating its 50th fireworks display this Saturday November 1. To celebrate the event, the organisers are putting on a pyromusical display, specially choreographed to music for the anniversary.

Gates open from 6pm with the display taking place from 7.30pm. Tickets can be bought in advance here or on the night at a higher cost.

Clough Hall Park Annual Bonfire & Fireworks Display – Clough Hall Rd, Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent ST7 1AN

Kidsgrove and District Rotary will be hosting this annual event once again on Saturday November 1. It will be joined by Warwick’s Fun Fair, and gates will open from 5pm.

The bonfire will be lit at 7pm, and fireworks from 7.30pm. All tickets must be bought at the gate on the night, with children’s and senior tickets at £3, 16s and over at £5, and family tickets from £15.

Barlaston Cricket Club Fireworks – Longton Road, Barlaston, ST12 9AJ

This annual event will be taking place on Saturday November 1, with gates opening from 5.30pm. The club has teamed up with Ironmarket Group to host an evening of lit up skies, with the display beginning at 7.30pm.

It is priced at £5 per person, with under 6s guaranteed free entry and family tickets at £15. It’s going to be ‘50 percent bigger than last year’, and will have a range of hot and cold food and beverages on offer.

Kidsgrove Athletic FC Annual Fireworks Display Halloween Special – Fitzjohn Stadium, Hollinwood Close, ST7 1DQ

This annual event is promising ‘20kg of flash powder’, ‘military grade explosive force’ and ‘more energy released than the 1605 gunpowder plot’ at its fireworks display this Friday October 31. It will take place at 8pm, with gates opening from 5.30pm.

Following the display there will be live music from band Stepping Lane. Tickets can be brought online or purchased in person from the club or from The Clough Hall pub.

67TH Burslem Scout HQ, Baddeley Street, Burslem, ST6 4EH

The Scouts will be holding their fireworks display on Wednesday, November 5. The gates open at 6pm and refreshments will be available.
