Saturday’s Premier League 3pm predictions

Brighton vs Leeds predictions

It has been a bad week for Brighton, who were beaten 4-2 at Manchester United before being dumped out of the EFL Cup via a 2-0 loss to Arsenal, but they have a perfect chance to bounce back against Leeds.

The Whites moved six points clear of the relegation zone with last Friday’s 2-1 win over a woeful West Ham but nothing about that performance against the team with the league’s worst defence suggests they will be the team to snap Brighton’s eight-game unbeaten run at the Amex.

That impressive run from the Seagulls includes wins over Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle – bad news for Leeds, who were beaten 2-0 by relegation rivals Burnley on their last away day.

Daniel Farke’s side won the expected-goals battle 2.4-0.5 at Turf Moor but, not for the first time this season, poor finishing cost them, and may do so again on the south coast.

Brighton’s Premier League games averaging 3.2 goals per game this season.

Brighton vs Leeds team news & predicted line-ups

Brighton

Jack Hinshelwood, Adam Webster and Solly March are out. Brajan Gruda, Kaoru Mitoma, Joel Veltman and former Leeds man James Milner are nearing a return and will be assessed.

Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, Kadioglu; Ayari, Baleba; Minteh, Rutter, Gomez; Welbeck.

Leeds

Wilfried Gnonto and Gabriel Gudmundsson returned to training this week, meaning the Whites have no confirmed absentees.

Predicted line-up (4-3-3): Perri; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Tanaka, Ampadu, Longstaff; Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin, Okafor.

Burnley vs Arsenal predictions

A run of six consecutive wins accompanied by six consecutive clean sheets should have squeezed the price for Arsenal to beat Burnley to nil but, amazingly, there is still value in backing the Gunners to continue their sensational run at Turf Moor.

At just a shade of odds-on you can back England’s best team – who just happen to boast the best defence in Europe’s top five leagues, having conceded only three goals all season – to shut out the side whose figure of 6.8 expected goals is the lowest in the Premier League.

That looks great value given that Arsenal have kept 11 clean sheets in 14 matches this season and the Premier League leaders look to be heading for another comfortable victory.

Burnley have shown signs of improvement when winning their last two matches but the Gunners faced just one shot on target in the Premier League last month, and even a prime Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo might struggle against this immense defence.

Scott Parker’s side will look to stifle their visitors but with Eberechi Eze firing and Bukayo Saka back, Arsenal have the tools to break through any stubbornness while keeping it tight as usual at the back.

Burnley vs Arsenal team news & predicted line-ups

Burnley

Long-term absentees Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer and Connor Roberts remain sidelined but there are no fresh injury concerns.

Predicted line-up (5-4-1): Dubravka; Walker, Ugochukwu, Tuanzebe, Esteve, Hartman; Larsen, Cullen, Luis, Anthony; Flemming.

Arsenal

Noni Madueke, Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz are still out. The game has also come too soon for Gabriel Martinelli but William Saliba is nearing a return and will be assessed.

Predicted line-up (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Mosquera, Gabriel, Calafiori; Eze, Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard.

Crystal Palace vs Brentford predictions

Crystal Palace and Brentford have both beaten Liverpool and reached the EFL Cup quarter-finals in the past seven days, setting up a scintillating London derby.

Goals could very well flow when two teams who put three past the Premier League champions in recent outings clash at Selhurst Park, and Bees forward Igor Thiago looks a big price to grab one of them.

The Brazilian has bounced back sensationally from an injury-hit first season in England to score six goals in his first nine Premier League games this term – a tally bettered only by Erling Haaland.

Thiago was on target in last Saturday’s 3-2 win over Liverpool, making it four goals in as many games for the Brentford ace, and he should get plenty of chances to add to his tally at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace beat a rotated Liverpool side 3-0 on Wednesday but they have gone five Premier League games without a clean sheet and have conceded four goals in their last two home matches, shipping three to Bournemouth before a shock 1-0 defeat against Larnaca.

Crystal Palace vs Brentford team news & predicted line-ups

Crystal Palace

Eddie Nketiah was forced off against Liverpool and has joined Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure on the sidelines. Adam Wharton is out due to illness while Chris Richards is a doubt.

Predicted line-up (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Canvot, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Kamada, Mitchell; Sarr, Pino; Mateta.

Brentford

Antoni Milambo, Benjamin Arthur and Josh Dasilva remain sidelined but Yehor Yarmolyuk and Aaron Hickey are available.

Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Ajer; Henderson, Yarmolyuk; Schade, Damsgaard, Ouattara; Thiago.

Fulham vs Wolves predictions

Goals have been hard to come by for Fulham and Wolves this season and another low-scoring affair could be on the cards when they clash at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The Cottagers have scored nine goals in the Premier League, just two more than rock-bottom Wolves, who are yet to pick up a top-flight victory from nine attempts and have just two points to their name.

There have been no more than two goals in five of Fulham’s six home assignments in all competitions and in all four away fixtures for Wanderers, evidence of the attacking struggles for both teams.

While the last four meetings have gone over the 2.5-goal mark, the eight clashes before that all produced less than three goals and it would not be a surprise to see these two play out a cagey affair given how important this contest is.

Fulham vs Wolves team news & predicted line-ups

Fulham

Marco Silva has confirmed Joachim Andersen is available and Samuel Chukwueze, Emile Smith Rowe, Rodrigo Muniz and Harry Wilson may also return. Raul Jimenez remains a doubt and Antonee Robinson is out.

Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukic; Traore, King, Iwobi; Kevin.

Wolves

Leon Chiwome is sidelined with a long-term knee injury and Matt Doherty and Rodrigo Gomes miss out after suffering injuries against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Predicted line-up (4-3-3): Johnstone; Tchatchoua, S Bueno, Krejci, H Bueno; Munetsi, Andre, J Gomes; Arias, Strand Larsen, Hwang.

Fulham vs Wolves key stat

Three of Fulham’s four home league games have produced less than three goals

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United predictions

Life is finally looking a little rosier for Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim, who could register a fourth Premier League win in a row when his side head to relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest.

The Red Devils spent big on improving their attack in the summer, bringing in Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo, and the trio can take advantage of a fragile Forest backline.

One player in particular who has come to the fore for the Red Devils is Mbeumo, who opened the scoring in the 2-1 victory at Liverpool and then bagged a brace in the 4-2 win over Brighton.

Even when the 26-year-old wasn’t finding the back of the net, he continued to get into shooting positions and he has managed at least one shot on target in eight of his ten appearances.

But the goals are coming now and Mbeumo looks capable of scoring against a Forest side who have lost four league games in a row, conceding eight times during that period.

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United team news & predicted line-ups

Nottingham Forest

Chris Wood, Dilane Bakwa, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ola Aina all remain sidelined for Forest, who are also without Angus Gunn after he suffered a knee ligament injury.

Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Sels; Savona, Murillo, Milenkovic, Williams; Anderson, Luiz; Ndoye, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Jesus.

Manchester United

Lisandro Martinez is back in training after almost eight months out with a knee injury but he still needs to build his fitness and remains unavailable. Harry Maguire is a doubt after picking up a knock.

Predicted line-up (3-4-2-1): Lammens; Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Cunha; Sesko
