The Waiting Is The Hardest Part

This is going to be a long day, still over six hours until Game 6. I really have nothing to say. I don’t like making predictions. Yesterday, someone, finding out I run this place, said, ‘That must be fun.“ I said, ”Only on days I have something to say.”
Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been excellent this season and during the playoffs. He was 12-8 with a 2.49 ERA during the season. And 2-1 with a 2.04 ERA. He’s had two complete games, but had a poor outing against the Brewers. I think it is time for him to have another poor outing. He throws four or five pitches. Splitter, fastball (averaging 96 mph), breaking balls, cutters and mixes them; it would be pretty tough to be a guess hitter against him.
We only had four hit against him in Game Two.
Kevin Gausman was 10-11 with a 3.59 ERA during the season. In five playoff starts, he is 2-2 with a 2.55 ERA. He’s been very good in the playoffs as well.
They tell us that George Springer is likely to play tonight. Davis Schneider did a great job filling in for him.
I’d like to see Schneider in the lineup tonight, but I can’t see how to make it happen. I don’t think you sit Nathan Lukes or Addison Barger for him. And Bo’s going to play second.
Hit a home run on the first pitch one day, sit on the bench the next. Who every thought we would have too many good hitters, after how poor we were on offense last year?
You know Vlad you can guarantee winning another MVP award with multiple home runs today, just saying.
The Japan Series ended yesterday. SoftBank Hawks beat the Hanshin Tigers to take the title. My mom always complained about MLB calling it “World Series”, but then Japan Series doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. That’s the Hawks’ ninth championship in the 2000s.
They went 11 innings in the last game, which seems like nothing. Why not go 18 innings? But, Jays, let’s not do extra innings today. I don’t think I could take it.
