Kevin Gausman is all of us.
The Toronto Blue Jays pitcher poked fun at Magic Johnson’s distinct posting style on social media, hitting him with a Zoolander GIF ahead of Wednesday’s Game 5 matchup in the World Series.
Johnson, who is part of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ ownership group, has a particularly distinct style on social media. While many people use those platforms to fire off hot takes, engage in trolling or provide analysis or commentary, Johnson will often post the very literal facts of a game or major news story in the world of sports without offering much in the way of insight.
His posting style has become a bit of an inside joke among sports fans. Here’s a smattering of some of his efforts from the past few months:
Clearly Gausman is in on the joke.
The starting pitcher likely will make his second start of the World Series in Game 6, back in Toronto. He was solid in Game 2, giving up four hits and three runs in 6.2 innings, striking out six, though the Blue Jays lost the contest 5-1.
If he pitches well in Game 6, there’s a good chance Johnson will very factually post about it.
