Rainy and cold for Halloween: not stopping anyone’s plans

Halloween is on Friday, and the scariest part of it is the weather. It looks like it will be rainy and cold. This is drastically different compared to last year, which saw temperatures up to eighty degrees.

The weather is not stopping kids on their trick-or-treat mission. It’s also not stopping adults from having their fun, either. Many are going to parties and staying indoors, avoiding the tragic weather outside.

Some people CNY Central spoke to said the rain could be inconvenient in regard to the look they’ll be presenting.

Kaya Wellington said, “If it’s raining, it’s really gonna affect my curls.”

Besides parties for adults, there are indoor trick-or-treating options available as well. This way, your kids can still have fun and get some treats while staying warm.

Destiny USA Mall will be hosting its annual Spook-a-thon on Friday. This will be going on from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the canyon. According to the Director of Marketing at the mall, there will be 70 tenants handing out candy. Over 600 people are expected to turn out, with all of the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

During the fan favorite event, there will be candy, a pumpkin chucking contest, a costume contest and a movie showing. Attending is free and costumes are optional.

There is also the Halloween Spook-tacular at the Syracuse Crunch game on Friday. After the game finishes, kids can trick or treat on the ice with Crunch players. During intermission, if you are wearing a costume, you may be asked to participate in a costume parade on the ice.
