Hearts are currently sending shockwaves through the world of football, as for the first time in several decades, the Rangers/Celtic monopoly in Scottish football could be broken.
Not since Sir Alex Ferguson led Aberdeen to the title in 1985 have a side outside of Glasgow won the top division in Scotland, but with both Rangers and Scotland struggling this season, there is certainly an opening for Hearts.
This week, the club went viral, but not for their performances on the pitch, but for a new football chant created by their fans.
For all the important information on the new Hearts chant, including the lyrics and tune, we have you covered below.
New Hearts chant, lyrics and tune
The New Hearts chant is sung to the tune of ‘Radio Gaga’ by Queen. The full lyrics are as follows:
I sit alone, and watch your light,
And dream about European nights,
And everything, we need to know, our number 10 … is Claudio
You remind me of those all-time stars and every hero to play for Hearts,
You make us laugh, you make us cry, you make us feel like we can fly,
And you fill us, with so much joy, scoring goals for the Gorgie boys,
And so you know, we’ll always care and we’ll complain when you’re not there,
You have the pace, you have the power,
You’re yet to have … your finest hour… CLAUDIOOO
All we need is CLAUDIO BRAGA,
CLAUDIO BRAGA
CLAUDIO BRAGA
All we need is CLAUDIO BRAGA

New Hearts chant reaction
To say that the new Hearts chant has gone down well on social media would be an understatement. Fans of other clubs in British football have lauded the chant, labelling it as one of the best around in the modern game.
One user posted on X, “That’s the BEST football chant I’ve ever heard. Absolutely top tier”, while another said, “Genuinely the best chant I’ve ever heard. Them Scots have come out with some belters, but this tops the lot!”
The worry now is that other clubs will jump on the bandwagon and use the Radio Gaga tune for their own players. Realistically, though, nobody is going to do it as well as Hearts, primarily because there isn’t a name that will fit as well as ‘Claudio Braga’
FGG says: They’re not the first, but this is the best
Despite popular belief on social media, Hearts aren’t actually the first team to use this tune for a football chant in British football. Manchester United fans used the song for their Shinji Kagawa chant back in the early 2010s, but their version was limited to just ‘All we need is, Shinji Kagawa.’ It’s fair to say that Hearts have improved on that and made the chant their own.
